Have you ever have a pen pal I never did. I signed up for one once but I don't remember ever actually reading and receiving letters from a pen pal.

I know alot of people did have pen pals. And so if you still write to your pen pal, give me a thumbs up in the comments underneath or in the broadcast page here. And just curious.

We're in the month of June and it seems like the years is flying by we started the sixth month of the year already. That means we're we're halfway to the end of the year. We're halfway to Christmas.
1:05
Here's a thought for you. Halfway to Christmas. All right. We're gonna finish up our series today about reasons why our prayers go unanswered and I want to look at a a story here in the book of First Kings in the Old Testament.
1:22
And I'm gonna read for you verses 11 through 13.
1:29
Scripture says, And he said go forth and stand upon the mound before the Lord and behold the Lord pass by and the great and strong wind rent the mountain and break it in pieces. The rocks before the Lord but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind and earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake and after the earthquake a fire but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire is still small voice. And it was so when Elijah heard it that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entering in of the cave and behold, there came a voice unto him said what doest thou here, Elijah.
2:15
You know one reason our prayers might go unanswered . We already looked at several reasons. So I encourage you if you haven't listened to the broadcasts this week, that you go back and check them out.
2:31
But one reason our prayers might go unanswered is because we don't hear the still small voice of God.
2:41
You see in this story. Elijah is hiding in a in a cave, from a lady named Jezebel, who wants to take his life and Lord came to to Elijah there in the cave and he was just says that, that Israel's forsaken God they've forsaken his covenant, and he is the only one left. Of course he actually wasn't the only one left. But if you ever felt that way that that you were the only one living for God and this earth one just like Elijah found out you're not the only one either.
3:21
But for the sake of the story for the sake of what our study has been.
3:26
We see that that God tells him in verse 11 to go and stand upon the mount before the Lord.
3:36
And behold, the LORD pass by and tells us that a great and strong wind rent the mountains and breaking pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind was an earthquake, but the Lord was not an earthquake and after the earthquake a fire but the Lord was not in the fire three things is mentioned here in Scripture.
4:02
mighty powerful things.
4:05
A strong wind could have been a tornado earthquake and fire.
4:11
Three things that we would expect.
4:15
God has us three things we would expect God to speak through.
4:21
But you know what all three of those things was nothing more than a noisemaker after all three of those things when came is still small voice and when he lies, you're heard that still small voice. He knew that was the voice of God, and he went out and stood before the Lord.
4:40
Maybe your prayer isn't getting answered. Not because it's not getting answered but because you're not recognizing the voice of God. You see, got the fire. You got the tornado. You got the earthquake, it's in this story here. All three of them are noisemakers all three of them is trying to drown out the voice of God. And if we pay attention to those things, we're not going to hear the voice of God and we're not going to hear the answer to our prayers.
5:10
We have to pay attention. We have to listen. We have to make sure we're in tune with god so we can hear when he's speaking to us and that still small voice so my question to you is, are you paying more attention?
5:28
To the other things, to the things that are nothing more than noisemakers?
5:33
Are you paying more attention to them? That you're missing? the still small voice of God?
5:42
Think about that as you go through this day and remember, get into God's word and allow God's word to get into you and then share that word with someone today. Have a blessed day.
