Are you placing your faith in the right place? In our latest episode, we explore the critical importance of who you follow in your spiritual journey. Drawing from the teachings of Apostle Paul, we discuss how easy it is to be led astray by false teachings and the importance of grounding your faith in Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul is teaching us that he is our example to follow in Christ. Many times, we look to people for inspiration, for leadership, for mentorship. Unfortunately, many times, those people are false teachers who are preaching and teaching a false message. By looking at the example of Paul, we can trust that he is a true teacher because he is following Christ.

Philippians 3:17-19, Paul writes, "Brethren, be followers together of me and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example." Paul emphasizes the importance of following those who are true to the teachings of Christ. He warns about false teachers whose end is destruction and whose god is their belly. These false teachers are enemies of the cross of Christ, and we must be vigilant in discerning their deceitful teachings.

Galatians 1:6, Paul expresses his astonishment that the Galatians are so quickly deserting the true gospel for a different one. In Galatians 3:1, he challenges them, asking who has bewitched them into not obeying the truth. This serves as a stark reminder of how entire churches can fall victim to false teachings.

Jesus also warned us about false prophets in Matthew 7:15, stating, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." This warning is crucial as it highlights the subtlety with which false teachers can infiltrate the church.
It's important to read the Bible daily and study God's word to develop spiritual discernment. This will help us identify false teachings and stay true to the gospel. Be cautious of anyone claiming to have a "fresh word from the Lord" as it often indicates false teaching.
