Episode 2147 - Are You Willing To Stand in the Gap

Today's scripture reading is from 1 Kings 18:17-40. We focus on Elijah's stand against the false prophets of Baal and the evil King Ahab.
King Ahab led Israel into idolatry, provoking God's anger. Elijah, a true prophet of God, challenged Ahab and the prophets of Baal to prove the true God by calling down fire from heaven. Despite the prophets of Baal's fervent efforts, their god did not respond. Elijah's simple, heartfelt prayer to God resulted in fire consuming the sacrifice, proving the Lord's supremacy.
This powerful story reminds us of the importance of standing firm in our faith, even when society turns against us. Just as Elijah stood in the gap, we too must proclaim the truth of God's Word and challenge the false gods of our time.
