Episode 2174 - Practice What You Preach

Episode 2174 - Practice What You Preach

Romans 2:21-22. Today's topic is "Practice What You Preach." Jesus often criticized the Pharisees for not practicing what they preached, a lesson still relevant today. In Romans 2:21-22, Paul questions the Jewish people, emphasizing that being Jewish doesn't exempt one from needing a savior. He asks, "Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? Thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?" These questions challenge us to ensure our actions align with our teachings and the Word of God.
Often, we put on false fronts, especially in places like church. We must let people see the real us and ensure our walk matches our talk. Paul challenges us to live genuinely, practicing what we preach. Jesus, in Matthew 23:3-5, warns against following the works of the Pharisees who say but do not do. As you go through this day, make sure that what you proclaim to others is how you live your life. Get into God's Word, let it transform you, and share it with someone today.
